Rolling down the Tire Question Road...

Lets :beatdeadhorse: on this tire matter again! :Slap:

Looking for opinions, pros, cons, personal experiences etc... on these tires.

Main intended purpose for the tires is plowing garden, tiller work, and cultivator work. Size I am thinking of is 26x12x12 to be mounted on 982.

Would appreciate any input people have. :beerchug:

In my opinion, you can't go wrong with Carlisle tire. They make very nice tires no matter what the application is ( tractor,4 wheeler, trailer )

Got a price on Tru Powers this morning.... $141.00 each + tax

If you can find someplace that has the Firestones, those would probably be the best. However, they will be very expensive if you can find them.

Mountain Heritage 08-25-2010 10:32 AM

Matt, your saying Firestones will be the best based on...quality or traction or something else?

I am sure that neither will be manufatured in North America so that is thrown out the window !! :bash2: Heaven fobid our tire companies for supporting someone in North America!!

Traction. Those were always supposed to be the best tread pattern tire you could get for these, and then they discontinued them. I wanted a set of 8.50s for my 582, but there's nowhere to get them. I think they were still made in the USA when they were being produced.

If this site wasn't under construction, they had some very good prices on tires:

I would have to say since they are just a stone throw away, that the customer service is second to none! May not be too expensive because of the demand??? And as a matter of fact, Carlile tire was made here in my town as of 2 years ago when they closed down.

Got some Carlisle Tru Power's today (23x10.5-12's) thru my local tire shop. $111/each, $241.98 mounted and out the door. Tire says MADE IN USA.

Nice to see some things are still made in North America!!

To bad they only ship to the US for $35. Our friends from the great white north are unable to take advantage of this deal. :crap::Cry1:

MH you might want to try and contact the seller and see if they would ship to you. They can only say no.

stumbled upon this thread , and if anybody is still looking the firestones are great. That is what we ran on pull tractors for years. the 30 degree bar is where its at. I have a set of 23" tru powers on my 128 and like them but if I could find a set of 23x10.5-12 stones in my budget i would be thrilled.
