Yeah but that one pallet has a nice assortment on it. Maybe you can do a phone bid.

Take Wifey with you , there is bound to be something there she wants or drop her off at the Nail Salon whilst you go to the auction

Every auction I have ever been to has people bidding ridiculous sums of money for something that they either don't need or could have gotten a better deal by looking for it somewhere else.
Yeah, there is the occasional great find but overall, if you want it, so does someone else and their pockets are likely deeper.
To me, auctions are meant to have fun browsing, and if bidding, it gets the adrenalin pumping, but bargains are few and far between.
Just my thoughts and you're allowed to disagree.

I agree. Kinda like gambling and fleabay. If I attend an auction and see something I want, I put a price on it and if I get it okay, if not...oh well. I don't like online bidding unless I previously looked at the item in person.

I would like to attend this auction but over 200 miles (~4 hours) away.

I hope someone attends and posts a review.

Screw these live auctions. As stated above, too many idiots with deep pockets. I've done best on Ebay, even though it is a shadow of it's former self.

Hey Lew, Did you go and buy some good stuff?

darkminion_17 12-17-2022 09:50 AM

No I did not, a lot of parts were returned to CCC. I spoke to the auctioneer.

Back In the early 1990's, it was sometimes nice to go to auctions, as only 10 People would show up, and you would kind of talk among yourselves, before the auction began (No Phone Bids and No Internet Bids). The 10 of you might agree, not to bid against one another, on certain items. But those days are gone today. I still go to the Mecum Tractor Auctions, more to watch, just because one of the auctioneers is a good friend of mine. I do agree, some really do have deep pockets. I see some of the same people bidding, I saw at the last auction, and it was just the week before. But those I do notice don't bid on a lot of the stuff I am interested in. But if I had the room to have the bigger stuff. I'd be In trouble, as I would have to pay through the nose to get anything. The residential line stuff, you can still get at a decent Price, sometimes even compact Tractors. But any of the old field tractors, forget it, if any of the regulars are there. They would make you pay for it, and you would probably pay more, than the tractor is actually worth in restored condition.
