109

Time for a refresh on the 109, don't know yet if it's the first in 50+ years but it's the first in the 18 years I've owned it !! It's been needing it for a few years but everyone else's stuff kept me from it, kinda like the plumber with the leaking pipes in his house ! Taking some time to work on mine so it quits huffing smoke while it's working !

Well then, we're gonna need lots of pics. Looking forward to your rebuild.

109 update

Got a little time to start disassembly of the 109's power plant ! PTO and basket pulley safely removed ,crank and key-way look great ! Some visible wear on the cyl wall likely will need to go .010 over or .020 if needed once I mic it ! The head looked normal and the gasket was not showing any issue other than age !

109 engine back together and running fine ! Bored .010 , long stretch from start to finish due to 2 weeks in SC and block at the machine shop 3 weeks ! Hi spots sanded from head and block deck stoned ,adjusted valves and static timed in engine stand, fired in about 3 revolutions ,heated up and cooled, re torqued head 3 times to 28 ft lbs, installed remaining shroud and air cleaner housing. Sorry I didn't get more pics of the process along the way ! Didn't get to plow any snow but it's ready to mow !
