Congratulations on the Brinly KK-305 Planter!! I have a KK-300 and have accumulated 7 different plates for it. They are hard to come by.

nickvanorman 03-26-2011 09:23 PM

Nice planter! i know someone who has one that they have on their Case 446. both of which Ive been trying to acquire but to no avail.

cub123 03-26-2011 09:23 PM

Thanks guys,i just wish it was a KK-100:biggrin2: does anyone know if the KK-305 model was built by Cole Manufacturing Co. too? I love how it looks behind the 123:biggrin2:

cub123 03-26-2011 10:33 PM

I am referring to the front foot,i guess yours is quite a bit different than mine, you can see in this pic what i am talking about,it should have two feet on it.

Awesome find on your planter, Ben!

Ben, I found this on another site. It looks like the front ripper is a Flat Iron with a sweep welded to the outside frame. My guess is it's a furrow opener for the fertilizer attachment. Very easy to make. It was probably cut off because the PO didn't apply fertilizer with it.

Thanks steve59,looking at it it shouldent be hard to make, and yeah the PO unhooked the chain for the fertilizer hopper, but thats fine with me,it has no rust:beerchug:

Those are just way too cool guys! Nice find with them planters. Hey Steve, you have any action shots of that planter in use? You use it at home all the time to plant your sweet corn or do you use the "life size" planter?

Iluvtruks0 03-27-2011 05:19 PM

Hey Ben, sweet find there on those planters. Would you be interested in selling that awesome unit

steve59 03-27-2011 05:20 PM

I plant all my sweet corn with the little Brinly. I have some pictures of it in action but they are on my PC at work. I'll post them this week.

JALLEN 03-28-2011 07:49 PM

Here's a couple pictures of my Brinly in action planting sweet corn....

_DX3_ 03-29-2011 06:29 PM

That is a great looking tractor and planter. OK those lines are way too straight in that garden :biggrin2:

steve59 03-29-2011 06:42 PM

Thank You DX3! I still have that ol' 1282 someplace. I think a neighbor borrowed it and I haven't seen it for a while. It'll pop up someday. As for the straight rows, that came from 35+ years of planting corn on the farm and the GPS in my eyes and A$$!!

Yamaguy 03-29-2011 06:42 PM

WOW by the looks of that first pic you have some garden!!

cub123 03-29-2011 06:43 PM

Nice work!Im amazed at the small hopper that that model has:bigthink:Im not looking to sell yet David,im not sure im going to part with this one:biggrin2:

steve59 03-29-2011 06:49 PM

The little hopper holds about a 1/2 pound of sweet corn. I plant 12 rows about 200 yards long which takes about 2 pounds.

Mountain Heritage 03-29-2011 08:25 PM

That is REALLY cool Steve! Lucky guy to have the equipment to do that. Makes work more enjoyable when you have the equipment! I agree...them rows are WAY too straight. I never could get my rows straight when planting corn...heck I was only using a 6 row planter.... your likely running around with a 24 row or something and they are straight as an arrow! Thanks for the action shots.....great!!

steve59 03-29-2011 08:52 PM

You guessed it Mike........24 row with GPS.

Mountain Heritage 03-30-2011 07:29 AM

:biggrin2: How did I know! Must be nice some days once the bills are paid and the crops are growing nicely to look around at what you have accomplished every year. Not a better feeling I think than looking at your land and the hard work and sweat you put into it. Even better for you when its producing so well. I only get to look at my garden (smaller scale than your farm). Have to go to the old man's to check out the farm land to see it produce on a larger scale than my garden.

I imagine he would think I was out to lunch if I showed up with a 1 row planter like yours to tell him I had come to help him plant for the day! :HeeHee: :ScrewLoose: He'd likely send me over to the corner of the field to plant him some sweet corn and tell me to hit road after that.

Either way, still pretty sweet set up you have there Steve. Can't wait to see some action shots of others planting......Gee, think I am a picture freak?? :bash2:

I purchased this earlier this week. I'm going to convert it to sleeve hitch and park my Brinly.
