The bolt holes in Cub Cadet Original frames had a tendancy to crack where they bolt to the gear reduction housing. They aren't very hard to repair, depending on the crack, you can weld it back up or make a doubler plate and weld it in there. The sucky part (as you already know) is that PO,s would drill holes in the cast iron reduction housing to "repair" the frame. Cast iron doesnt "fix" as easy as steel, You can put some masking tape over the hole on the outside and put some JB weld in the hole from the inside... The masking tape will give the filler a look that is similar to texture of the cast iron.

Heck, if you don't like that cub, then I'm sure that there is another one there that you would like!!! Wow, I wish that was in my backyard!!!

Sure i'll buy it. O's are hard to come by. By the way easy fix. What's on the lift arm?

Hmmmm? Whats on the rear and what kind of breather is that too? Of all the Cubs I have had the Original is the most model I have had...here is three more I have found in a shed. 1961 early with collar spindles,62 and 63 with fenders but they all go together for $1,200!

It looks like a hack job by a po? The repair to the frame, the lift handle, was the guy a giant? That big platform on the back - meant for someone's lunch? What the heck is that lever with the cable on the left side of the dash tower? Someone break off the throttle lever and this is how it was fixed? Hope they are selling it to you cheap - you have a lot of work on that poor O if you buy it. Worth it - but just....HOLY COW! :bash2: :banned:
