Belt Length
1 Attachment(s)
I am trying to mount a 42in deck on my 108. This is my first time dealing with any of the decks/carriages except on my original so I'm not to familiar with all the different size decks and different setups. I believe I need a 1/2"x80" belt from what I see on the belt chart in the tech articles. The deck I am referring to is the one on the top of the pile. Also, what has to be done to mount one of the cast iron end decks (against barn in picture) on a wideframe like my 108? And another thing, I have a 44C deck. Can the lift eyes be moved around to make it like a 44A and mount under a 108 or 1250?? Thanks for the help

Per the charts, for that type of deck, used on a 108, the correct belt would be: IH-473462-R4

Thanks for the info. Why is it not IH-490489-R2 ? Are the 1x8/1x9 subframes the same as the QL? Why does the belt chart recommend a 1/2x80 for the 108 with a 42in deck while the QL uses a 3/8x81? Like I said, first time dealing with all of these different options, thanks for the help sorting it out

The quiet line uses an electric PTO and the 1x8/1x9 uses the manual PTO. There are differences in pulley sizes between the two therefore the difference in belt sizes. A 44A deck has a 1/2" center pulley and can be used by wide frame and quiet line mowers. A 44C deck has a 5/8" center pulley and is designed to be used by the 82 series tractors.
Yes the subframes are the same for the two, but if a 44 or 50 inch deck is being used, the pulley brackets on the mule drive for the Quiet line will be twisted to the left "as you are sitting on the tractor" to accomodate the off set center pulley. The 38, 42, and 48 inch decks have a centered center pulley. Therefore the pulleys on the mule drive will be squared in relation to the frame. :beerchug: |
Ok, so do all of the mechanical pto's use 3/8" belts? Electric 1/2" or 5/8"? Is it just a typo in the belt chart page because it says that a 108 with a 38" deck uses a 1/2x80? I need a 3/8x81. Do the 44A,etc have an offset center pully or just the C's? Sorry for all the questions, just confused a bit

ALL of the 44/50 series decks have off centered drive pulleys.
