New Cub owner in Michigan

Well I finally got a Cub Cadet. I've owned a Deere for several years and it was wearing out and needing repairs and after searching the internet decided I wanted an old 60's vintage Cub Cadet. I searched high and low and found exactly what I was looking for locally. It is a 102 in great shape and runs better than my John Deere ever did. It also has the creeper gear. These Cubs are really built well like everyone says!
I eventually will restore it but in the mean time I am just enjoying having a nice working garden tractor. I will try and post pictures when I can so I have before and after photos. I am located in Mid-Michigan where they seem to be plentiful and hope to acquire several implements to allow me more fun time in the drivers seat. This is a great forum to gain more knowledge on my newly acquired toy. I've been reading everything I can here so I don't ask too many stupid questions from you guys. I did find out that that "yellow fever" sets in quicker than expected!!!

Welcome to OCC CaptMax. You found one of the best there is in the cub line. Built like tank and keeps on going. Being in Mid Michigan I am thinking you will love a snowblade and snowthrower. This is where more than one cub comes in handy. You mount your implements on different cubs and therefore you get more work done and less time changing them out. Looking forward to pics. :beerchug: Got to love Yellow Fever!!

From what I hear that red fever can be just as bad!

Thanks guys for the comments, yes I did my homework on the 102 before I decided on that model. I'm off to a friends who has a nice narrow frame blade for me, but I am looking for a mower deck before I lose the John Deere. New AG tires are next. This is a great website and I'm sure I will have my post count up there in no time. I really love this Cub!!! :biggrin2:

That is a great looking 102. FYI it was made in very late August 1965.
