3 pt vs sleeve hitch?

Looking for opinions. Having an 1872 it might be nice to occasionally use some rear mounted equipment. Box blade ect. I have no hitch at this time. If we leave cost out of the equation which would you rather have. 3 pt or sleeve hitch. It seems that there is more sleeve hitch attachment out there that are easier to get my hands on. Cat 0 stuff seems a little harder to come by. When you look at price for a new unit from Extreme Motor Works ect that seems to really swing the decision towards the sleeve hitch. I'd love to have a 3 pt with a PTO but can't really justify the cost right now for something I won't use a lot. If cost were no object I'd opt for the EMW 3 pt with rear hydraulics and get one of his log claws ect. But alas That's not in the cards right now.
So what are the pro's and cons of each. How about issues of leaving say a back blade on while using front snowblower.

My opinion is go for the 3 pt hitch setup! You can then get the A frame for a brinly adapter, to boot! And Who doesn't think a 3 pt looks super cool on a CUB? If I won the lottery, Im calling Little tractors, and Xtreme :biggrin2::biggrin2:

You have to get somewhat creative to put a sleeve hitch on a 1872. Supers never came with a factory sleeve hitch. I would look for the guy who build 3pt hitchs for the green ones. He is now making a 3pt for cubs that are close to the original design and are compatible with the pto. I think his name is Ruegg or something like that.

I gotta go with what William said too.... a 3 point would be uber cool, plus you can use sleeve stuff too.

Seems like I have read somewhere that a Narrow Frame sleeve hitch lift could work on the SGT using the mount and the cast lift. I am sure the lift bar would have to be made, but that should not be much of an issue. I am going to have to see if I can find that article again, they even had pics.

Found them. Vince_O a member here did that with his Super. Maybe he can post some pics.

I think that is the guy. If I didn't already have a gt cat O on my super like what xtreme makes, I would go with the ruegg hitch if I wanted to keep the rear pto as an available option. I would definitely go cat O regardless and then get the aframe adapter so i could still use sleeve hitch equipment.

I put a cat 0 on my 1872 from Exteme MW. I like the stability you get and it does really look cool.

I don't have a need yet, but as soon as I do procure something with a Brinley style hitch, I'll be purchasing the "sleeve box" from ALZ Welding.

It is Bill Ruegg that makes the 3 points for JD's and the supers. I put one on my 982 last year. Price was good, comes powder coated, and was complete. I'm very pleased and would recommend it. Pics:
