Tag mowers and 127 Cub

6 Attachment(s)
I finally figured out how to get some pictures from the new camera. Sorry it took a while.
These are some shots of the 127 and the tag mowers. I mow about 3 acres and this really cuts down the mowing time. (no pun intended):)
I cut approx 80 inches at one swath. 42 inch deck on the tractor and 22 inch cuts on the tag mowers.
These are working mowers as you can see, not for show. Also there are some safety issues with this set up. No you cant back up with this rig but It can be modified to be able to back up. The tag mowers must be manually shut off. Always were eye and ear protection!

Chris

don't see that everyday around here! Thanks for sharing pics!

I could probably mow my property in 15 minutes with that setup.

Yea there is no magic with this. But it saves me a lot of time. Our yard is pretty rough with lots of trees, and its hard on the tag mowers. They just aren't built for that abuse. (Read that more maintenance)
I drag these through the ditch along the front yard and keep the Cub up on the level ground. Much safer then leaning the tractor into the ditch. We have 600 foot of frontage, so we have 600 foot of ditch to keep trimmed too. Since I rigged these I have not had to weed whack the ditch. One pass each direction and its done.
These work great around trees with branches that you cant mow under with the Cub . Send the little mowers under there!:) If I turn sharp to the left I can mow tight around a 18 inch diameter tree. Turning to the right they cut a full swath.

Chris

cool set up i love to have something like that! Instead of mowing 60inchs at a time.I have a huge yard i cut with a TO-30 Ferguson with a woods 60 inch mower. It is a great tractor tough as nails like the cubs!

Nice set up! :bigthink: Hmmm. What would happen if you added another tandem set up like that to the right side?

We have a 1958 MF TO-35 Deluxe with a 6 foot Bush Hog. Now that is a fun mowning set up! However its easily trumped by the Farmall 706 and 9 foot home made bush hog! But here in the city limits I have yet to see a yard cut better than the ol' Cub Cadet can!! :beerchug:

dieseldan123,
Wow 9 foot home made brush hog. Need pictures of that!
Back to the tag mowers on the right also. You would mow about a 10 foot wide swath, but going around and between trees would be tricky:) I have considered it several times. Also you would have to have a guiding system for tracking the previous cut so that your tractor and right side tag mowers would be fully utilized too. It would be a heck of a machine. Similar to the golf course mowers.
Just something to get folks thinking out there in CUB land.

Chris
