70 and 982

I tilled up the garden last evening just to try to get the soil broken up a little since it finally dried out...just in time for 6 straight days of rain:bash2:. I figure after it drys out one more time I can get my mushroom manure and some other amenities in for the final tilling and get my plants in, hopefully within the next 2 weeks. I posted about a slight problem I had with the 982 not wanting to start after I climbed on the 70 for a test run after I rebuilt the carb, cleaned out the gas tank and installed a fresh plug. I guess the 982 was jealous and decided she didn't want to start. I pulled the battery and cleaned it along with the cable ends, tapped on the solenoid a few times and I guess after that attention she was done being mad at me and decided to start.:biggrin2: Heres a few pics

I had the 70 all tore down and cleaned her all up. I like the idea of the 'original condition' look, so I decided to put her back together. I'm kicking around the idea of selling her. After cleaning and rebuilding the carb, cleaning and lubing the governor, throttle and choke cables, she runs like new. Starts immediately and not a lick of smoke. It's making my decision hard. I'm going to finish disassembling the deck so I can get it in workable condition.

Toyman,
Nice pics!! Both the 982 and 70 look great. Glad to hear the 982's not jealous anymore. Can't have any mad cubs around.:biggrin2: Boy, I'd sure love to have a tiller like that for my 982. Of course, first I'd have to get a three point hitch on it. :bash2:
Thanks for sharing the pics. :beerchug:

You know you would be kicking yourself for getting rid of the 70... :biggrin2: Hard to find those nice older cubs that run like that.

Just had the conversation with ny wife last nite. I'm either going to sell it or get prepared for me to spend some money:biggrin2:

Toyman,

I vote for you to spend some money!!:biggrin2:

Spend it! You can't take it with you!!
:biggrin2: :beer2:

How about a couple shots of that there garage you have.....is it divided so you have one side for car and the other for a work shop/Cub shop? I like the styling of the roof!

Awesome garden and that tiller rocks! Nice dirt too! So how much you going to be spending on that 70?:biggrin2: It's a sweet condition!

Cool pictures of the 982 and 70
Looks like the tiller did a great job on the garden.
