Haban 402 d / c mutt for me!
10 Attachment(s)
I recently acquired a killer attachment for my cub arsenal! Its a haban sickle bar, and its missing some guts, but I will take care of that soon enough. Here are some pics of it, most of which are from me to remember how blade assembly goes back together and such. Hope you guys enjoy!

My favorite thing so far is how they used the hitch plate for mounting the thing, and added a tab so you can keep it on, and still attach your trailer, or whatever.

Congrats on your sickle bar mower, William! :beerchug:

Some new pics for my friends!! I think Im going to end up painting it cub yellow, to match everything else, if not powdercoating next year. My biggest thing today, was to straighten out the main sicle bar. Ask Jude- it had a nice 3/8 from straight bend near the middle. I straightened that, and found more imperfections. Now, its about 1/16 from perfect flat across 48 inches. Thats not too darn bad. I cleaned up the crank pin so that I can start rebuilding the sicle sections, and the connecting rod, and driving block for sickle moving bar. Otherwise, aside from the long bent tubing from front to rear tractor mount im good. Id like to invest in some long pointy guards - look dangerous appearance wise, but I probably would never ever find a good blade edge cover.

I have more to add. That crank for the pitman head is 3 main pieces! The main shaft, offset weight casting , and the crankpin. Mine are all loose compared to a press fit, but Im gonna try it as is for now.
The pic of the main bar is horrible seeing it on screen - its really glossy deep jet black. I am making the tractor this is going onto hydraulic. I have a hydraulic motor available, but don't know if it is suitable- rpm wise. Anyone out there have any opinions on if thats a worth while avenue to explore? |
William that thing is going to be sweet.... I'd never be able to get one together like that... I gotta take the easy way out and get a complete one :)

dude you bought that thing out from under me by an hour! Id have a match up and a working mower, too if it weren't for you meddling kids!
