New PA Member - new to me old tractor

Hello Only Cub Cadets! My name is Alan and I'm a Cub Cadet Fan. Thanks in great part to some of the excellent info I've previewed on these forums, I am now the proud owner of two (mostly) working model 149 Cub Cadets. When the local dealership wanted to sell me a 16 horse garden tractor for $3500 +/-. a running 1973 model 149 with a good deck delivered to my home for $550 total was too good to pass up. My first 149 has been mowing "meadow grass" at full deck height and plowing the drive for us for 5+ years. My Father-in-law plowed snow with it about 30 years ago. Now the question is, at what point do I take one of these working machines and start restoration to make a "new old tractor"? |
cub1450fun good to see more guys saved from new mowers
hay sound like you got lucky on that one and wen to restore one if you need to restore then do it if they work and you like them as they are then don't bother. good to see more on here. have a good day mike (cub1450fun

:IH Logo::Welcome2::IH Logo: Nice to meet you. I love my 149. I use it for mowing and pushing snow also :biggrin2: |
Alan :Welcome2:
Sweet pic! Now that you've got two 149's you can leave one as a worker and start your restore on the other 149. If it was me I'd restore the family tractor first then the second 149. |
welcome to occ!! nice looking 149. love to see them work.
