1000 stalling out on a slope
I've recently cleaned out my carb bowl, and installed a fuel filter on my QL1000. Ever since, as I'm mowing, the tractor will just stall out as if it ran out of gas. At first I thought the coil was heating up and shutting down, but then the tractor seems to start right back up. I soon noticed that it always happens going uphill, downhill, or on a sideways slope.
When I cleaned the bowl, I replaced the rubber gasket. The other piece, the black membrane with the half circle cutout for the float, was not in stock, so I re used the old one. The edges were a little crinkled, and it wants to over hang and stick out under the edge where the bowl meets the carb. I think my friend called the black membrane a "baffle". Could anyone tell me what this piece does? I'm thinking that we must have gotten it installed a little crooked and maybe it's hanging up my float somehow when I drive over a slope. Any help appreciated. Josh P |
Sounds to me like maybe you need to readjust your float level on your carb. something about the slope must be making the float cut fuel off to the carb. I have been told to adjust it so that there is a little more gap at the needle side then at the other side so that it gets a little more fuel to start easier too. Just my :TwoCents:
