New from PA
Hello everyone. I'm from Pennsylvania. When My wife and I purchased our first home 3 years ago we also got an 1811 cub with the house. I've had some troubles with it but it still runs and mows. i Have also acquired a small back blade, hiller, and a cultivator. As well as a brinly plow. I just purchased a rototiller that mounts to the 3 point hitch. its in pretty good shape and isn't missing anything. Right now I'm rebuilding the driveline. I am a machinist so I can make some of the parts myself. oh yeah, If anyone needs an iron or bronze bushing ball let me know i have some i'd sell for $10. Cub dealers want like $25. My father has a 122 which I'm using to mow with until I get mine fixed. Everyone here seems to be very nice and helpful and am looking forward to picking some brains. |
Welcome! 1811
I own an 1812,it took a few bucks to bring it back to life,But,I cant praise it enough.I plow snow W/ it, my drive is about 300'l-X-20'w, and have no problems gittin-her- done.Any money you put into one of these machine's,is money well spent.I am new to this forum also, hoping to learn more.Wecome again!:beerchug:

1811,
:Welcome2: Welcome to the forum. There are a lot of good people here. How do you like your Dad's tractor? |
I have had trouble plowing snow with mine. My drive is pretty long as well and it slopes down on sides. I found myself buried down off the side before. I Have Wheel weights and chains but still have a hard time getting traction. Usually the snow is too deep when I get home in the morning from work. The 4-wheeler does a lot easier job. I live in north central PA. About an hour north of Williamsport. My Dad's 122 is a nice old tractor. We lived in the southern part of PA when I was little and he used to mow a big field with it. Up here he mainly just plows snow with it and it does a really good job. My front yard is a hill and the 10 HP motor is a little small for it but it can take it.
Thanks to everyone making me feel welcome!:Woo: |
