You measure from the landside to the outer edge of the moldboard.

Just to throw in :TwoCents: to the mix and I might be out to lunch...

If your looking at a Brinly plow, everyone that I have looked at that was to be and once measured, a 12" one - they have the tail of the molboard squared off it they original.

But if you look at what is to be a 10" or an 8" they have a completly rounded molboard.

:HeadScratch:

That's just what I have found....maybe I am wrong?

measuring???? plows

I looked at my Brindley assembly/ setup plow booklet. the measurement DX3 shows me was; from the bottom left side of plow share,to the upper right point where plow share joins moldboard, his tape measure showed (appox. 71/2") so what size plow was that? The land side is a flat piece, (appox six" longer than plow share) that sets in the bottom of the furrow. the second diagram is from a different perspective the picture one. I know i'm thick headed but it cornfused me! the gentelman from canada, (my g-ma was from grindstone island/ gananocia ontario) but I think I git squared off molDboard, maybe???

Sounds like you have an 8" plow. Some won't be an exact measurement.

Your measurement picture

That was not my measurement, youre picture/measurement showed 71/2" I ask U what size is that plow???? in your picture ????:beatdeadhorse:

esarvey the measurement looks like a full 8" to me so one would have to assume it is indeed a 8" Brinly plow.

The picture would be an 8" plow. The picture is simply showing how to measure across to get your size of plow. :beerchug: You can't go by my red lines, they are just for showing where to roughly measure from. The line on the left is angled a bit, my hand and mouse are a little shaky,, LOL

Exactly, I was just using the red marks to show where to measure from like this:
