Here is the rake I constructed from MF bailer forks /tines Tractor Sply was selling cheap. It grabs the twiggs that fall off all my maple trees ,when the wind blows 5 mph . I have been just running over them with the mower , I like the crunchy sound it makes. I can angle it so it pushes em to the side .

Very nice, I need to get something like that. We have a bunch of pine trees with very long needles that fall and cover the ground. Do you have any issues with the tines being farther apart and not getting some leafs or shorter things? Maybe I am looking at the picture wrong, but they look to be about 3-4 inches apart?

Yes you sure could put them closer together the 2x4 is 4 ft so I think they are 5 in apart but it seems to work well on sticks and dethatching esp when wet the tines were $2 ea I might cut them off 3in and they would be stronger

Looks good you could just put ones in the front if you want to add more tines. I would leave the tines long
