Tire Chains
 

I need to make a set of chains for both my 122 and 1450. Is there a chart somewhere that tells apx how long and wide the finished chains should be. I will be making these out of odds and ends of other chains I have around.

Dang that sounds like a lot of work! I've never seen a chart that tells the length and width's of different sized tire chains. If mine were off right now I'd measure them for you :( Ya might want to keep your eyes open for some used ones for sale or trade. I picked up a few pairs that friends were giving away over the years...

Thanks, have some that are fairly complete, just need to add a few across the tire but just not sure how long.

How wide are the tires? If they 23x8.50-12 you can may be cut down a set of truck chains i did that they work good.

I have sets of chains off of other garden tractors as well as car and truck chains. On the Wheelhorse I just sold I ran chains year round. The tires on the 1450 I have will spin sometimes in the grass while mowing and I hate that. I need to get a set of chains put togather for it and the 122. I have some heavy truck chains I wanted to get made for this winter and a set of lighter ones for mowing.
