some better pictures of my new 149...

so i was able to play around with the 149 a little tonight after work...

my jumping throttle is due to some very worn linkage off the engine... easy fix

pulled the deck off.. its pretty nice but i just dont have any use for it....

it runs very strong... it suprised me a little... it will move on out pretty good in high range! pretty fast....

here are some better pictures.. some one had asked about the head lights and tail lights... i dont think the tails are original...

and yes some one has put a trash JD seat on it... haha!

also got some better pictures of the parts tractor... i dunno if its worth any thing or not.. i dont think im going to keep it but i need to make sure i dont need any thing at this time for the other one.

enjoy.

Looks good. The headlights do look funny. If I remember there was a tin thing in the back with a square border around the lights. Yours look a little buggy. Nice ag tires!

I made the comments on the headlights, they are definitely not for the 149, they would have came from a 800-1650 tractor. Not that it actually makes a difference, just thought you might like to know.

If you have room, I would keep the parts tractor, it doesn't need many parts put back on it to have a complete tractor, and I recall you stating you got a pile of parts with them, you may have the needed parts anyhow. Once you start fiddling with the 149, you will find yourself wanting another project anyways, keeps the parts one and you already have project 2 in the wings! I bought a 149 the first of the year, it has turned into a full blown restoration/ modification project and have since aquired 7 more cubs...it is getting a little crowded around here....LOL! But seriously, please take a look at my build thread in thus section of the site entitled, "Cub 149 Resto-mod", I think you will find some points of interest there about some upgrades, and repairs you might need to make on yours. Also look at others threads, you will find a great wealth of information here about these tough little machines!

Enjoy your new toys, they are great!

I totally agree.....save that other 149!!! It's very salvageable and appears to be in pretty nice shape. Now, let's talk again about that seat.....:bigthink::biggrin2::biggrin2::biggrin2:

Hey, I've been following your thread on the resto mod. very informative.

Also, im already thinking about my next project build, lol, but I can say it won't be this other 149. Im interested in trying to find a diesel, but thats another day and another road trip.

The main purpose for this 149 is my small garden. Im going to find a tiller, and I would also like a few other implements like a box scrape and a turn plow.

That's a pretty good looking 149!! Wished mine would have been that well taken care of! And the ags are nice!!! Seriously I call dibs on the parts tractor if and when you decide to get rid of it!

Just looking over your pics again....noticed the JD logo on the back of the seat, you need to get one of those stickers of little boy peeing on it...LOL!
