You guys have been around cubs awhile. Will a trans from an 1864 swap in? (have a slipping problem but trans is way overfull and filter might be clogged..will correct them first)
The number one problem is a bad oil leak from behind injectors. A steady drip. Someone at the auction said it has an "O" ring back there could be leaking. Thoughts?
If I can get it lined out I may send my 2182 down the road. The front plastic is junk, but I have the solution to that even if it isn't pretty.

No, it will not. The 1864 both has a different reduction ratio and a different hydro unit.

Darn, I'll have to cross my fingers on the oil change & filter.

Lets see some more pictures of that cyclops with the 1x6/1x7 grille and hood please.

Wow, you just keep finding those diesel's. What part of Illinois are you from? I'm in Plainfield

Here you go Oak. It's the only other thread I've posted here so far. That will change.

Yamaguy, I'm in Southern IL at Mt. Vernon..between St. Louis and Evansville. I don't know about this one, but the Kubota powered Kubota was a fluke because no one wanted to tackle the swiss cheese deck. I seem to be getting great deals on cubs lately though. The 1811 was just a really lucky roll of the dice.

Just an update, I did swap the transmission in with no problems, just a brake swap. Gear ratio is probably slightly taller to offset the shorter tires on the 1864. I could see no difference in the pumps.
Driving it, it doesn't seem to have any different ratio, so whatever it is off, it doesn't make any practical difference.
I have mowed a couple of times since the swap. It might not swap on paper because it isn't identical on paper but in the real world, it is an easy practical swap.
