1782 blowing fuses
My cub cadet 1782 keeps blowing fuses when I start it or when use the glow plugs. I can't find a bare wire. I have blow over 25 fuse trying to figure out whats wrong with. The starter will spin sometimes. I don't know please help me!!!!!!!!!!!!:Help:

I wonder if a glow plug is bad? Not sure if that possible but if the wires are good then it must be the thing trying to run is drawing to much amps.(glow plugs or starter solenoid ) Maybe there is a short in the key switch. I have never seen it but.... Not sure how your fuses are but my fuse in the 1872 is a glass one and it came loose once and hit the metal hole in dash it goes into and blew. I blew a few before I figured that out. Good luck. Electical shorts are the worst to find sometimes.

Also, I was just thinking, assuming your switch is off, lights/run,run, start. Maybe you have a light issue and its blowing when you switch crosses from off position to start? Just an idea?

Larry,
Thanks , It just maybe the lights, because the PO for some reason cut the old head light wires. I , wired them back up and guess what now its blowing fuses. thanks Logan Pfeiffer |
That is great! Much easier to rewire lights than chase down a short.:beerchug:

Sweet, I hope it is! Lets pray its the lights! lol

well, its not the lights. I think it is the fuel selion(fuel shut off) I push it in and runs great. I let go it shut downs and blows a fuse.
So, I called the cub dealer they tolled me it was unavalibe, the kubota dealer had to check it out and I have to call tommrrow. If they don't have I'll have to get used. |
I don't know if the fuel shutoff solenoid is available from a Kubota dealer. I just looked in my parts manual to see if I could help you out and maybe even find a newer part number. All the Kubota parts I see in there have a "KB" prefix. The fuel solenoid has no prefix and is a cub cadet series number of 759-3544. This number is probably superceded by a newer number.

BTW - My cub cadet dealer has access to a system that has listings of obsolete/nos parts that are still avail at other dealers. ask yours if he has access to a system like this. It's worth a shot.

Logan,
Why don't you try running a wire straight to the battery from the fuel solenoid. Remember thats what I had to do to the red rally. |
