GPM and PSI output
I am wondering what kind of GPM and PSI the 782 ported hydro can produce? I believe that I was told that they are set at 550psi, but that they can be turned up to 1000psi. I have been trying to find the answer, but cannot. I am thinking one of these are in my future on the 882

Link isn't working for me ,what are you looking at.

You need a dedicated pump to run that.
|
The psi on the 82 series is 800-900 psi. The 123-1650 400-550
|
You would need a separate pump, like Matt said. Also you would put more wear on your tractor than is necessary. It just does not take that much horsepower to split wood.
|
Just curious what is the gpm on the 82? And what about my 1872 psi/gpm?

Although the pressure is adjustable, the output of the charge pump is low. Just look @ how slowly the deck raises/lowers and figure how much slower a larger cyl will operate.
yea it will work and split wood but I think you could have lunch before it would. cycle |
There's 3 different charge pump displacements (.19, .3, or .33 in3/rev) given in the Sundstrand service manual, but I think it's the smallest one, so the flowrate would be about 3GPM at 3600 RPM, I think. That would be true for any of the ported hydros used in a CC GT...they are all essentially the same.
Regardless, you need a dedicated 5+GPM pump to run anything but a small auxiliary cylinder. The charge pump is only for intermittent use actuating cylinders and stuff. You'd probably ruin a hydro pump by running a loader or logsplitter off of it. |
Kind of what I figured. I like the thought of not having a different engine for everything I want to do (generator, log splitter, ect) Especially for as often as I need them which is the same reasoning behind having attachments for the tractors in the first place. I may buy one and then just run a pump off the pto. I would really like to find a log splitter with a blown engine, or at least find the I beam and what not.
