What does "Made in the USA" mean?

What does Made in the USA mean to you? Does it matter anymore? Do you have a favorite brand that still means "Made in the USA"? I'm getting a bit discouraged how little it seems to mean these days?

it's something that can get ugly quick if you're not careful.... I try to buy "made in the USA" but a lot of times that does just mean "assembled in the USA".

My wife's Subaru is 100% assembled in the USA whereas my Chevy's final assembly is in Mexico....

I don't really think on items with multiple components that you can ever fully guarantee that it's fully made in America. There will always be some type of component that's made overseas, imported, and added to the domestic manufactured piece.

What about in your tool box? Brand you expect to be American, brand you don't?
