Now thrower bushings

Does any body know or can measure the size of spacers that goes between the 2 plates that the gear box slides up and down on to tighten the belt. My QA-42A us missing these and the parts break down on parts tree shows spacers in between the plates on the 4 bolts. Or are they realy needed?

Yeah, they're needed, or you won't be making any adjustments to the belt tension. They're 5/8" OD and 3/8" ID...the thickness I can't remember off the top of my head, but you could probably figure that out from measuring the other parts. You want them as short as possible without the gearbox bracket binding. If they are too tall, the gearbox bracket will tilt, mess up your belt alignment, and destroy the belt.

If you are spinni' em up on the lathe,
origionally they are .390 bore .560 OD and .250 length. +/- .010
Or you can go to the hwd. and get a 1/4" pipe nipple maybe 4 or 5 " long,
and cut the 4 spacers needed, 1/4 long.(hack saw/pipe cutter works)
You will 'prolly have to run a 3/8 clearance drill bit in the nipple first before you cut, as they usually run a few tho' small on the bore, and the bolt will not fit.

We needed an easy program to run on our new CNC machine we just got set up. So I made a program to turn, drill and part off me some spacers and they worked great.
