Coil Help!

Got a question about coils. I have read on here that the coils on a 105 or 1450 have internal resistor coils. I just picked a coil at TSC and it says on the back, (univerasl coil for straight 12v systems without series resistance).
Will this work?

Check the batt. terminal on your existing coil w/key on and it should show full battery voltage. If yes than your good to go.
