129 into a 128

I have been wanting to find a 128. I have a chance to buy a 129 and possibly turn it into a 128. I know it will need a clutch and a new tunnel cover, but my concern is will the clutch pedal work the same as the brake and possibly anything else?

You wil also need a gear drive tranny...You need to study the parts lookup on the cub cadet web page,That will help you out a lot.

It'd be easier just to wait for a 128 to come along. By the time you buy all of the parts that are different, you could just about buy another tractor.

Thanks guys, I was talking about everything but the obvious. I already have the rearend, all I need is the clutch, drive shaft, and tunnel cover. Now back to the question I originally asked, will the clutch pedal still work?

I believe the pedal is the same, you just might need the piece where it hooks up under the frame. You could check a parts lookup or I could look at my 149 and 108 this weekend.

If you are going to mow with this tractor. I would stick with the hydro. To much shifting gears in a gear drive and thats not fun. you will also need the piece that goes on the clutch/brake pedal to acttuate the clutch. They are not the same on the hydros and gear drives and are a pain to put on.

I wanted a plow, tiller and snowblower tractor. I want to put a creeper on and use it for an implement tractor more than anything. Thanks guys

If you want a snowthrower tractor, you want a hydro. I'm a gear drive guy, but throwing snow with a gear drive isn't much fun. I did it once...never again.
