1872 front axle bushings

Looking for axle bushings 941-3005 for the 1872, 2072 tractors. I see they are NLA. Anyone have dimensions for them as I can make them at work. I just can't have the tractor down right now to remove and measure. Also, are they made out of brass or bronze? Mine have a lot of side play in them and I assume thats not normal. The tractor has 860 hours on it and I've always greased them monthly. Thanks.

Could you post a pic of what you are talking about .The 1872 is supposed to have bearings in the axle tubes not bushings I know the original had them but thats about it.

Not the wheel bearings, cub calls it steering knuckle assembly. Sorry for the confusion.

Again, pictures would be most helpful...

I think he means the bushing where the spindle goes through the cast iron axle and rotates for steering.

If mine were worn, I would measure MINE before machining, to compensate for wear.

You can get them though a local bearing place. I got mine at Buffalo Bearing. They are brass with a steel outer casing and the a split. There are two a side. I don't remember the exact size. I'll look and see if I find a old one, then I can measure and show you what they look like.

Rob that should help a lot!

I've edited your post and changed the title to front axle to clear things up a bit.
