Manual Transmission trouble

Awhile back I was wire wheeling my transmission and the rear end on my 1200 and it got away from me and rolled over breaking the gear shift off just below the cup on the shifter. I machinist welded the shifter back on and I put it back together all seemed fine, well I was doing some tinkering yesterday and turned the axle with my hand while it was in gear and the input shaft did not turn. Upon further investigation no matter what gear it is in when you turn the input shaft the axles don't move. I tried turning one axle and holding the other and all it does is turn in the opposite direction. What is wrong with this transmission? Did something in the rear end come loose from being upside down? Is there a gear in the tranny out of place ? :bigthink:

You didn't state you took the cover off the weld the shifter??

If you did take it off again, move the gears until you get neutral back.

Yeah I took the cover off to weld it. It seems to me like its always in neutral, but shifts into gear . Its like theres no connection between the input shaft and rear end.
