982 rear PTO

I have a 982 super garden tractor in near perfect shape - with it is a 45" 2 stage snowblower and the 60" commercial belly mower. It has a20 hp Kohler & everything works great. My question is, is there a rear pto kit out there that can run a 4' bush hog and or other rear attachments? This tractor also has the front ports as well as power steering and dual brakes.
thanks everyone.

YES, there was a rear PTO Kit. But it depends what generation of 982 you have. It comes down to whether the tractor has a IH cast iron rear end in it or the Aluminum rear end. One of the rear PTO kits were.....190-433

BTW....the 982 rolled out of the factory with a 19.9 HP Onan. If this tractor has a 20HP Kohler, then it is a transplant.

So, from the looks of that diagram, the pto was run off of the rear of the hydro pump? Is number 14 another clutch like the front pto uses? I was never sure how the rear pto worked, and am curious. Anyone have any pics of a rear pto being serviced?

If you search "Wow, that was fast!" you'll find my thread on the installation of my 3 point and rear pto. Yes, 14 is the rear pto, it runs off a separate switch. Here's a few pic's otherwise.

This is a 2000 RPM pto not a 540 RPM or even 1000 RPM, The hitch is a Cat 0 NOT a Cat 1- attachments are expensive and difficult to find. ( I think Kubota and MF used the same speed PTO on some models) I would suggest adding the axle supports sold by CCS if you are going to put a brush hog back there. You will also most likely need some suitcase weights out front if you plan on turning.
for cost reference: I sold my 45" tiller attachment for more than I paid for the 2182 tractor I used it on. I have had the 2182 since it was 4 years old 180 hours.

Can a 982 rear PTO be removed without causing other issues? I found someone with a 982 which has a rear PTO and is willing to sell it.. can i remove it from his tractor without causing any issues to the tractor and if i were to remove it what pieces should i all have to make it complete?

The rear cover needs to go with the pto assembly. You will need to find out if it is a cast iron rear or aluminum rear in his machine. Or if you can find one for sale you can let his on the machine and not have to drain his hydro fluid.
Here is an aluminum rear cover.

Pics are a help but go to the parts lookup and get a breakdown of the "433 rear pto" it shows everything needed. I don't see the manual for the 433 installation on here but maybe someone can post that up too. It has a list of everything too.
