2182 blower?
I'm a newbie here and picking up my 2182 in the morning. My question is, What blower/thrower would work best on my cub? I am noticing not as many options as a JD tractor as far as options. Can somebody help? Thanks, KayakDon

:Welcome2:
I think you need a 450 blower and 448 lift kit for it. http://www.cubcadet.com/webapp/wcs/s...A/040074000001 |
Thanks Methos, I found out I need a 451. Well I got my 451 today and everything bolted right up and works great. The only problem I have is how the lift rod connects to the underside of the tractor. The blower came off of a 1863 and the seller gave me a part that bolted to his tractor then the lift rod. I dont see how this part would be needed on my 2182. Looks like the lift rod just needs a bolt/pin at the connection. I slipped a bolt in place and everything works, but I dont think the bolt is right. Anyone have a part number? I havnt been able to see this area in any parts brakedown yet. Any help would be welcome! Thanks, KayakDon
Possibly there was a stud welded that the tractor end is supposed to pin to, and it is broken off leaving a hole? |
Here is an owners manual for the 451 you can print out:

Thanks Dwayne for the owners manual. If you look on page 17 Figure 33 I dont have a place to install that bracket, also on page 18 figure 38. My cub 2182 has a factory bracket with a hole on the bottom edge where the lift handle rod would/should attach. I think there is supposed to be a pin welded in there and it is broken off. So I could just slip the rod over the pin/ washer/ and clevis pin it on. Any thoughts? Thanks, KayakDon

See if you local hardware store has a hitch pin the size of the hole and add washers to take up any slack between the lift handle rod and pin.

here is a picture. I'm guessing it is supposed to be a pin in the bottom hole

I have the bottom bracket with no place to bolt it. My very early 2182 has the bracket welded in place from the factory. I still think the pin is broken off. I will just use a hardened bolt with 2 nuts and some washers.

I would just weld a new clevis pin in there.
