2 Attachment(s)
Anyone know what the clearance between the chute hole and the auger, or at least maybe what your is just curious have searched but no luck? Attached pics of mine was cleaning and painting the chute and got to ask. I bought this used 2 yrs. back. Looks to be about a 1/4" gap. Thanks, going to surf later if I find anything I will post? Maybe Sugarmaker will compare his as it is pretty factory lookin now! LOL :HeadScratch:

That appears to look all right. That is about what all 3 of my throwers look like. Here is pics of my 36" and 42"

Darn I just learned something by seeing your pics! LOL Not only is the clearance the same but, my QA36A has a right and left blade in the center of the screw? Your QA36 looks like its soild? Strange similar model and design change? Pretty cool! Thanks for the pics cubs n bxrs answered 1 question and started another? Maybe less snow thrown less chance of plugging? LOL IDK :bigthink:

Auger clearance?

340,
I will try to get out to the sugarhouse and measure the clearance on the QA42 chute to rotor dimension.
Sorry I did not follow your comments about the auger difference on the machines? A picture might help?
Glad cubs-n-bxrs got this info for you!
Regards,
Chris

340,
Looks to be as mentioned: about .25 inch clearance, between rotor and housing near the chute.
Regards,
Chris

Would you take pics of the front view of your auger. The screw on the left in your pics looks odd for some reason. Does not look like it is attached to the paddle in the center.

Sorry thought I had posted a left and right picture? Heres a couple more, like I said the QA36-42A's must have a different paddle style for the chute from the QA36-42's 2 lefts 2 rights :HeadScratch:

There are both 2-paddle and 4-paddle QA-36/42A snowthrowers...that is the reason for the differences you are noticing.

Things that make you go HMMMMM. I have never seen a 4 paddle thrower before. Does one work better than the other hence the design change?
