Gear Drive Trany Oil
Looking to change transmission oil in my 108, the mnual said only add as needed but i see people do it all the time so I guess I will too. What oil to use? And where to get it. I am looking for a quality oil to put in this trany. Thanks for the help.

HyTran just like the hydro's use. Your Cub Cadet dealer will have it. It takes 7 pints to fill a manual transmission.

In the Ih service manual for 70/100 it says hytran OR SAE-30 Motor oil. gear drives are pretty hardy, im going to use sae30. :BlahBlah: i hope i didnt start another fluid fight lol

This may be of additional help..... Chart

I'm using SAE 30 motor oil in my 122 and have noticed much improved performance compared to the water-infused mess that was removed from it. It was not easy to roll in neutral when I first bought it. No problem now.

OK some needs to explian to me why a good syn gear oil wouldn't be better than HYD oil. :bigthink:

I am sure many owners of these gear driven tractors put in what ever they had. My 106 had some heavy gear oil in it before I changed it with Hytran. I put 30 wt in my 122. They both operate good and shift nice.
