Well I bought the 2072
I listened to you guys on the other thread and I went ahead and bought the 2072. I sold my 108 and 149 to fund the 2072. I picked it up yesterday.I'm sick so I spent today at the doctor so I haven't got to mess with it much. I gave it a bath and did a quick inventory of things to fix. When I went to look at it the first thing I checked was the rear end bolts. They were all tight but one of the top ones is missing so I mentioned it to the seller and he ended up giving me a parts tractor to make up for the missing bolt. I got the 2072 and the parts frame for $1050 plus it cost me $52 in fuel to pick it up. It runs good doesn't smoke, the hydro is quiet but a little low on fluid. The front tires leak off and I found a pin hole in one. It leaks engine oil a little. It been sitting outside so some of the electrical connections are corroded and it has the black mold on the paint. I haven't run the serial to see what year it is yet. Serial #784969 Model 149730100. The PO had put a 60" deck under it that's pretty solid. Its a little noisy so I bet it needs greasing. Well here are the Pictures Let me know of any other issues to check on this model.

Congrats on the 2072!:beerchug:
Looks like a 1989 built and the parts tractor is a cyclops. |
Yea I think the parts tractor maybe the 14 series cyclops.
|
Your new toy is looking good! Did you buy from the guy in E-town?
|
Yea. He's OK but a little hard to trade with. Not very freindly and a little odd turned. He has 2 more still listed and a bunch out beside his building. He has a complete 108 I saw and a few more wide frames. This tractor is a little rougher than I had hoped but I think it has potential its just gonna take some time and $$.

Nice find on your 2072!

WOOS1,
I have all his contact info I can email you if you want it. I saw a complete 108 and several wide frames. He has 2 more listed on craiglist right now I believe a 982 and a 18XX something. The thing with him is his version of ready to mow and mine are way different so keep that in mind. I saw several cubs sitting around places on the way over so dad and I are gonna make a day trip and see if we can not pick up few more for parts and resell. |
You're gonna love that Super !! :American Flag 1:

a "parts" tractor for a missing bolt..... Where can I meet those people.... :bigthink:
|
Well he wasn't happy about it but he was a man of his word. I told him it would cost several hundred to fix the rearend. I wanted to tractor but I was concerned about the missing bolt. He offered the parts tractor and I paid him and loaded everything. It was just a blessing how I sold mine to a cub Guy and was able to get a deal on the 2072.
