Has been a busy day...
With the weather hanging around 78 or so and sun shining, I got busy today. I got out the big propane torch and cleaned out the fence row for the dogs. I had two gardens to plow, so loaded up the BRS and plow and had an awesome day of turning dirt. Not a glitch or problem. That thing is so smooth. Decided to run into town and give her a bath and then stopped by the local Cub dealership and let them come out and drool over it a bit while I picked up my $46 ISO mount. That is singular, not plural, LOL. I'll be adding a mount for the next three months. That will have all new mounts in the BRS by June. Only one is split, but I feel better replacing all of them with new and hanging onto the good ones just in case. I stopped in at my local NAPA dealer to pick up an oil filter and a gallon of 15W40 Rotella for the BRS. Had to spend awhile there showing her off. That is when we noticed the right rear tire on my trailer had at some point lost the air valve in the wheel, and the tire separated from the outside of the rim. Luckily I had not traveled far and ruined the tire or rim. My buddy that works there, was kind enough to give me a 4 pack of valve stems and opened up a stem puller to mount it. He also brought out a brand new floor model jack to raise the tire up off of the ground so I could wrap a ratchet strap around the tire to pull it close to the rim, and then he got an air compressor from the store and hooked it up and brought it out so we could get the tire to seat and then air it up. It is so nice to know there are still people who don't mind to help out no matter what and asked for nothing in return. We got the tire fixed, I bought everyone a round of pops and shook hands and headed to the house before something else had time to happen, LOL. Once home I got out the wax and cleaned up the BRS and gave it some love. I took some pics for you Duke with it still on the trailer after the waxing. Sorry, no pics of plowing or fixing the trailer tire. Also have a pic of my new ISO mount.
Oh, my buddy at NAPA was all gaga over the BRS. I think he underestimated how much fun they are to work with and to restore. He now wants me to help him find one for him to have and work on. I gave him our website, and am hoping he'll find his way here to look around and get some ideas. :beerchug:
