1572 clutch repair options

The clutch springs and pins in the clutch of dad's 1572 have broken. A quick seach on parts tree looks like most parts are unavailable. Has anyone rebuilt these clutches and what are my options to repair it or replace it. Thanks for the help Don

On the drive shaft? Toss the clutch and install a new drive shaft without it. Mine starts easily without the clutch.

Dwayne,
What driveshaft do I need to try to get to change it out? I wondered if you could eliminate that clutch

Just get some 5/8" cold rolled at TSC or a local hardware store and make your own. Very cheap that way. It will also be a good time to install some new rubber discs and check the bushings. :beerchug:

The disks are a new already. Basically set it up like my 2072 then?

You can order a straight drive shaft for a 1772 to replace the old one if you don't want to mess with making one.

Supers have a 3/4" driveshaft.

So used to using 5/8" for everything under the sun, I didn't think about that. Will mark that down in the front of the manual. :beerchug:

Well we ended up only needing one roll pin and new springs. We were able to bend the springs to make new hooks and replaced the roll pin and it works better than ever. Dad has decided to buy a new sub compact so soon the 1572 will be mine. If it breaks again then we will replace the whole drive shaft as you guys suggested.
