Kohler M18 need new carb ?'s
Hi Folks,
782 80ish? with Kohler M18. It looks as though I will need to replace my Walbro Carb. Water damage and clogged, w/ pin hole in bowl. Any suggestions on where to go for purchase or rebuild? Any info is greatly appreciated. Best Regards Gary S. in Tampa Fl |
I may have 1 or 2 of them. Im sure they need a kit , but in working order. Im not sure what there worth or what to ask for it.

Thanks for the quick response. Do you know of an upgrade or step up? Other various things I've read that possibly from a larger motor it may run better? Also I found a place in MO that will rebuild mine? Not sure about that. I was hoping to maybe find a new one if it exists. I'm working on this machines 2nd life and hoping to make quality choices. Thanks so much for your input. Best Regards Gary S in Tampa Fl |

Hi Gary,
I can't speak for your 782, but rebuilt mine in my 982, 2 or three times, and found new one on ebay. There not cheap, but worth every penny, just stay away from the garbage 87 octane, hope this helps. John |

and x2 never use the 87 octane. our engines & carbs dont like the ethanol in it so you need the high grade gas. |
You can use a Kohler adjustable Carb from a KT-17 just fine.

Like Rolland said, Im running 2 carter #26 on mine

Headed for shop rebuild for the carb.
Gentleman,
Thanks for all the input. Two local shops gave same response I've been hearing. Shop rebuild if you can find one. I will give it a try, and update in a week or so. I may need to check back on what 4speed has if this doesn't work. Thanks again. Gary tpa fl:bigthink: |
