Any CC 149 owners out there?
:American Flag 1:
Question about the hood hold downs on a 149. My hood brace has groves in it where the hold down contacts it. Are they suppose to be there or should the brace be without the groves? Thank you for your time. Don B. |
I have a 128 (12hp gear drive, yours is 14hp hydrostatic drive, otherwise pretty much the same) and I don't see any hold downs... maybe I'm missing a few pieces. My tractor is an original neglected 128, now it's a better maintained but well worn 128.

There shouldn't be any grooves. Time to do a bit of welding to build it back up. I had to do that on my 128.

I have welded up the grooves in my 149 and 169.
I even put a little spot on the latch wires also to build them back up. |

Do most of you guys use your hold downs and do they seem to keep the hood from shaking and rattling on your 1x8/1x9 series tractors? I have taken them off of a couple of mine because I have had issues with them catching on the hood when raising and lowering. I may need to make some adjustments to my grill in order to properly position the hood with respect to the dash, and I know I need to do some fiberglass work on the dashes to tighen fhings up.
