PTO belt for 782
 

In the belt chart it says my 782 with a 50" deck should take a 5/8" x 72" belt. The PO had just put on a new belt it's a 5L-880 which is a 5/8 x 88" belt. That belt was almost too tight. I had to put the belt around the center pulley and then lock the deck in place. It would not go on with the deck already locked in place.

So my problem is if a 88" belt is too tight then a 72" wouldn't even go on so what would be the correct length? Thanks!

That's a typo in the belt chart...the actual OEM belt is like 88.5" or something like that. Cub Cadet liked to use a lot of goofy-sized belts.
