Cub Cadet 2072 driveshaft coupler update

Hey Guys, Thanks again for your input on the driveshaft coupler issues. While cleaning the tractor up for the first time since buying it last week, I discovered that the all the engine mount bolts were loose and one was missing. I'm thinking this is why the rear splined driveshaft coupler failed.
Last weekend I started machining on the old coupler so it will accept a new splined steel coupler which I purchased on ebay. If this idea does not work, i plan to fabricate (machine) a new coupler from steel instead of using another oem cast coupler.
Have a great day!

Your lucky, look at post #17 here, to see how the motor came out of my 2072!

I think someone had mine loose, to slide it forward and replace the rag joint, then didn't replace all of the bolts? Whatever, it was / is a mess.
