149 won't start with key

I have been mowing with this tractor for the past three years. The other day I finished mowing, and I shut the tractor off and used a blower to remove grass clippings and dust from the deck and engine compartment.

Then when I went to fire her back up--I turned the key, and nothing.
I did a visual inspection and everything looked okay, but nothing when I turn the key. I eventually used an external battery to jump the starter generator, just so I could put her away for the evening.

Today I removed the gas tank, checked the fuse under the dash and made sure all the wires were still hooked up. Everything looks okay. The key swith was replaced last year, the battery was installed in 2010, the headlights/tail lights work--so the battery is not dead.

I need to trouble shoot. Any suggestions?

I would start with the neutral safety switch, then move to the starter solenoid.
