CCO mower deck question again

So I got my pulley that connects to the engine and spins the blades. I have been adjusting the tension of the pulley with the big bolt that goes across the front. Now the problem is when the belt is connected I cant get the blades to disengage they are always spinning, is there an exact tension I have to have on the belt or what? :bash2:

The pto belt for the O is always running. The blade shutoff is on the mower deck itself. I do not recall what adjustments can be made on mower belt tension but do know the mower belt itself is a toothed belt and the blades must be timed with one straight ahead and one side to side or the blades will hit each other.

Sounds like you need to adjust the linkage from the foot pedal on the deck, as it sounds like it's set too tight. Also, make sure you have the correct belt going from the middle pulley to the left hand blade spindle. Too small a belt won't allow the middle pulley to disengage.

Thanks it might be the linkage ill have to look at it more.

Do you have the pulley covers? I think the belt guard had a piece that stopped the belt from spinning once tension was released

There is a semi circle piece under the cover that looked like a horse shoe.
