The Cub Cadet 122, after sitting for at least 5 years fired up a few weekends ago. I kept putting off posting the video, but here it is.

BTW - I plan on posting a few more videos of the Cub. I do a lot of video editing, so you'll be seeing more of her in the coming weeks.

Now, I just need to start scouring ebay for some more parts....

Well, in my defense, I forgot I was wearing the crocs...

I think the smoldering was just the crud on the engine. Haven't been able to investigate much further.

It was a great feeling.

If it's not flotsam left in the engine, it may be oil seeping from under the head from a bad head gasket. That's a pretty easy fix if you determine that's what it is. Matt has a tutorial on the tech section of the site here thats quite useful. Keep those cards and videos coming!

If it makes everyone feel better, I don't wear the crocs outside of the house...ever. lol

I'll be sure to wear some work boots, hiking boots, bare feet, or better yet - shotguns next time I make a video like this. Duly noted.

I do have to pour into the smoking issue. Fired it up this week, and didn't see it. I forgot that the spark plug wasn't entirely screwed in (it was hand tight) and the thing blew out, so I'm assuming there is enough compression in there!

My guess is that it's just smoldering crud - old gas, old oil, something of the sort. Worth a good engine degreaser and look over again.
