1811 leaking at hydro input shaft
stopped to cool off today and saw oil on the frame and deck. Took off the tunnel cover and there was a small piece of plastic wrapped around the shaft between the coupler and the front of the hydro. it was in there pretty tight but I got it all out with needle nose pliers and started the engine, it drips about once every 5 seconds. so it looks like a new hydro shaft seal is needed. my flex joints look to be in good shape so I will reuse them, it has 2 at each end of drive shaft.
when I unbolt the seal housing from the hydro is there anything I need to watch out for. like needle bearings and such. I have never had to work on the hydro in any of my tractors. I am also tryin to find a service manual for the 1811. |
found my parts I need on the cub web site, new seal, needle bearing, and o-ring will all be around $40.:biggrin2:
while looking up parts I saw the charge pump kit, I think to myself, over 1000 hours why not change it and not have to worry. Well I changed my mind real fast when the price came up at over $500 for it. I could buy another 1811 for that price............ |
Hate hearing about the leak. Here is a link for a Service manual.
Section 3 covers the trans and hydro system. http://ccmanuals.info/pdf/CCC%20GT%2...e%20Manual.pdf |
