Cyclops Hood and Side Cowling question...
The plastic on my 1641 project is very dull and faded. Anything work on making this stuff look a little better? I know on 4 wheeler and ATV plastic you can scotch bright it, coat it with armorall and let it set in the sun for a few days and it restores it to almost new condition. I don't think this will work as the plastic is a bit more rigid than the stuff on ATV's. Anybody done anything that works? maybe just a coat of wax after a little polishing compound?
Thanks! Draphty |

I wonder if clear coat would work? I have an old hood and may give it a try.:bigthink:

A guy on another site told me about a product he was using. I can't remember what it's called. I have it stored on my computer. When I get home, I'll post again and let you know what it's called. It worked excellent according to the pics I saw.

Thanks...I'll be waiting for the reply!

Its called Klasse. I saw a guy talking about it and he posted a side by side pic of the plastic hood he polished. Looks to have worked wonders. Here is the link to the thread. It looks like there was some paint peeling towards the front edge. Seems thats gone too. I have yet to buy any but plan on it. ITs not exactly cheap. But neither are these toys we have.

AH, the wonders of Photoshop!! :biggrin2: |
Thanks for the replies...I'm gonna try and work on it and see how it goes. The decals are in horrible shape...so I may do something there also.

try a wax cleaner, or some of the many plastic protectors. Wax will work on plastics, a cleaner wax works well, and gasp nufinish works outstanding.
