Northern Illinois Newbie

Hi to all. I'm nearing retirement and am looking for another hobby to take up my time and money. Farmed in younger years, so always had interest in tractors and equipment, including garden tractors. Can't afford to collect the big ones, so these will do just fine.

I currently have a non IC tractor made by General Electric in the early 70's. It's called a Elec-trak. It's electric and works very well. Been using it to mow and move snow for the last 5 years. But it's time to get some more toys to tinker with.

So I'm looking for a tractor to not only take to shows but put a plow or disk behind it and hit a couple plow days. That will bring back memories of the hundreds of hours I actually spent plowing in the old days.

Looking some of the forum discussions, it appears everyone on this site tends to be pretty helpful without the finger pointing that goes on other sites.

So on with the search.

Mike

Glad you joined us.

I have a 149 and 169, They are great to plow with.
I use them year around for mowing, pulling carts and wagons, pushing snow, plowing gardens.

Is that why they are called garden tractors? I would have never thought of that. :biggrin2::biggrin2:

Sorry, I just had to do that.
