582 cast iron rear picture help
I have searched this site, Google, Matt's, parts tree does not give a good schematic.. my biggest problem is where the clutch hanger goes. everywhere to get a couple of pictures to convert my 1604 over to a 582 with a cast iron rear. I need the picture of the connection of the engine to drive shaft, the hanger etc, the more pictures the better of the drive line. I have finally got some time to convert it, and all the parts. All help would be appreciated it.
Parts I have is drive shaft line (in great shape) 3 pin driver, and a good cast iron rea, brake linkage, and also a updated calipers off a 1641 I think I have everything, I just need some good pictures of how it's set up. Thanks, Clint |

I used a drive line out of a 1000 for the command eng.
For use of a mag eng all you need is the 3 pin driver and the bracket to bolt to the flywheel off the briggs. I may have a compleate set up for you, got to figure out if Frank is going to part a 1606 thats at the shop or try and save it. This is Danny, he aint much into fixing things, he likes to break them and tear them apart. His 482 with a 104 rear and command eng in it. |
I should have posted what I already have, I have a cast iron rear from a 128, I purchased the driveline from a 582 (clutch, drive shaft is all together in good shape as well as three pin driver) I'm installing it in the original B&S 16 hp for now, plan to replace at some point with a vanguard I already have. Brakes I have a 1641 for parts I plan to use the brake pedal assembly etc, and caliper assembly from that. I had to purchase the clutch hanger new, those pictures will help a lot thank you
