Guide me in the right direction please...
Ok so I need some guidance on getting these wires in there right places I believe that most of them are in the right order but Im posting pics of the ones that I have second guesses about, because the wiring diagram wasnt very specific for me.
First, Which post does this orange black stripped wire go on and is the other one a ground? http://i1120.photobucket.com/albums/.../WP_001404.jpg Is this connector both wires are solid orange for the pto safety? http://i1120.photobucket.com/albums/.../WP_001405.jpg Is this connector for the clutch safety switch one solid orange other wire is orange black stripe? http://i1120.photobucket.com/albums/.../WP_001406.jpg Are these hooked up right? http://i1120.photobucket.com/albums/.../WP_001407.jpg Is this the correct way to ground the starter? http://i1120.photobucket.com/albums/.../WP_001408.jpg Are these in the right order? top grey, middle blue, bottom yellow http://i1120.photobucket.com/albums/.../WP_001409.jpg What goes here? http://i1120.photobucket.com/albums/.../WP_001412.jpg And lastly can I use a toggle switch for the pto safety? Thanks, and Itll help me out a ton if you guys can point me in the right direction. |
PM me you actual email address and I will send you the wiring diagram for the 1X8-1x9 tractors. I have it saved in my computer but can't seem to attach it to this reply.

In addition, do we "assume" you are working on a model 128...??? |
Yes I am working on A cub 128 and I've been following the diagram that's posted in the technical section and the one in the manual with no success. I have the right wires going to the right places based on the diagram I just want to double check on here.
Right now, I've put on what I believe to be, the clutch safety switch from another 128 I had. I'm having difficulty figuring out how it becomes engaged when you push the clutch in. I also have rigged up a PTO safety switch in the empty hole using a toggle switch I had laying around. So hows the button on the clutch safety switch get pushed in by the clutch? |

From the Parts Manual. Item #19 depresses the plunger on Neutral Safety Switch when the Clutch Pedal is depressed.

The ground wire is too small and doesn't go there. Here is how my 149 ground wire is routed:
http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s...o/149pto38.jpg It is connected to the front of the start/generator and the other end is connected one of the bolts that holds the grill on the tractor. |
Ok, thanks ill look for #19 and get a thicker wire to ground the starter. Thanks

The hole next to the ignition switch is for the light switch. If you don't have headlights, you can install something else there--or install a OEM light switch to fill the hole.

I believe to have found my problem, I think my solenoid is bad. I can jump the solenoid and the starter turns over, but when I turn the key to start it nothing happens. And since I dont have the push thing for the clutch I just bypassed all of the safety switches. |
