Getting to know my CCC 782
Now that I've put 100 hours on my recently purchased 782 I have a couple of observations / questions. The KT17 II runs well at WOT and low idle but I have to wonder if valve chatter is prevelant on these engines? It's not terrible but it is the dominant tone coming from under the hood. And if these valves are not set correctly could that be the reason why it runs hot with the tractor side covers on?
On the hydraulic side of things I notice that after it sits a day or two the deck sinks down to it's lowered position and also while driving if I push the lift system to either end the transaxle really picks up speed. Don't know if either of these are normal. Thanks for any insight or comments you may have. PS oil levels are all correct |
I can speak on two issues. The deck dropping after a couple of days is completely normal. You should lower the deck initially when you are finished with it anyway to take pressure off the system. Even bulldozer blades will lower over time if left in the up position for a few days. The sudden jolt to the transaxle when the lift lever is maxed is also normal.
