Which 1250?
I am looking at 2-1250s. One has manual lift and 1 has hydraulic lift. The 1250 will be for mowing and tilling only. I figure the manual lift w/ helper spring, (I haven't seen many of the helper springs for sale), would be the better fit? Once operational again, the 1450 w/ dual hydraulics will be for snow removal and any other work requiring a sleeve hitch. What do ya'll think.

I personally like Hydro Lift over the Armstrong Lift.:beerchug:

I've been tilling with a 682 with spring assist. Saying that, I strongly suggest the hydro lift one if its a 38" tiller. Its real heavy with the spring wound tight. I'm considering converting it to hydro lift just for this reason. Either that or just till with the 1450 because mowing is a manual lift preference for me.

I'd also go for the 1250 with hydraulic lift. The hydraulic lift is nice!

CD I don't have a tiller but do have discs, cultivators and other attachments for the 126 with manual lift, although it's not that hard to raise them it does get tiresome after a while. For this reason I am adding hydro to this machine when I do the rebuild this fall/winter. I would definately go with the factory hydro now so you don't have to worry about doing it later. It's pretty awesome to push the lever forward and your load goes down and then back it goes up. It's a little touchy on the mower side but thats what the stop bracket just ahead of the lift arm is for. Of course if price between the two is a problem then that in itself may be the deciding factor..
