Pics of the nice 1250 I picked up
5 Attachment(s)
Finally got around to snapping some pics of the nice 1250 I recently picked up. This is the one I got with the electrical problems. Got those squared away and she runs nice. Few other bugs to work out. Got the gem from a gentleman in his 80's. He was the second owner. The first owner worked at Farmall in Rock Island back in the day. He actually scribed his name, address, and phone number under the seat as well as on the frame under the tunnel cover in case someone stole it. The fourth pic shows that if it shows up. He retired and moved and the gentleman I bought it from got it. He also worked at Farmall as an electrician retiring in 1980. Kinda neat listening to his stories and what he saw in 30 years working on M's up to the 1X86 series. Anyway, he was happy to see the 1250 go to someone who appreciates cubs. The wheel weights on the back he told me he had poured by a guy who worked with cast iron. I'm gonna pull em off eventually and take a look at them. Enough rambling, on to the pics........

It's really great to meet the guys like that. |
Congrats on your nice 1250, Josh.

That is a very nice looking 1250. I hope the electrical problems aren't too serious. The nice thing is that everything is fixable.

What a great score, that is a really nice looking machine.

Nice 1250 Josh! Looks pretty clean and original. I've had two Cubs where the PO put his social security number on several places of the tractor so they could recover it if it was stolen...oh the things people do with Cubs. :beerchug:

Thanks for the comments guys. Never really have been into Quietlines. Started with the 800, then the 1650, now this one. The electrical gremlin is back again so I've gotta look at the wiring diagram closely. Melted the wire from the ign switch to the coil again so something's amiss. :bash2:
The best part of picking up this tractor was talking with the PO. Super nice gentleman. Most satisfying part of our hobby is meeting neat people whether PO's of tractors or those on the forum. :beerchug: Later all. |
