1282/782 sleeve hitch compatability..

I have a 1282 and was wondering if the 782 sleeve hitch would fit properly. Some parts say sleeve hitch some say 3pt assembly.
Part numbers for the cast piece seem to be the same but it appears they are attached a little bit differently(special $$$ bolts vs long rod).
Are the pieces different wide frame vs narrow frame?

thanks in advance:bigthink:

Mountain I know your 982 is larger just by your posts. I figured the 782 would be the compatible "red" equivalent

jski55,

Yes you are correct in thinking that the upper cast piece is different between a Wide Frame and a Narrow Frame. I "think" the mounting difference between the 1282 and the 782 is that the holes in the frames are different sizes, therefore requiring the high dollar bolts as opposed to the rod. Be sure to check the size of the holes in the frame first as this information is coming out of my head and it's been a long time since I've seen either a 1282 or 782.

The cast piece is the same for a 1282 and 782; the difference is that the 1282 is manual lift and the 782 has hydraulic lift. The 782 uses a straight bar from the tractor's rockshaft to the cast piece, and the 582/682/1282 use one with a bunch of bends in it.

Thanks for the input...as it turns out the cast pieces are the same number but the difference is the mount: rod vs bolts. Probably because of hole size as suggested. The rockshaft differences because of hyd vs manual is also correct.
Im just trying to get what I need for my tractor. The 1282 red did have a yellow counterpart. So Ill just keep plugging away till I get what fits on mine...

No, the 1282 and 782 both use the bolts. They quit using the rod in the middle of the QL series. If your tractor has bushings for the rod instead, someone added them.

heheh didnt say MINE took the rod... Ive got a schematic/part breakout sheet for the 1282 so I know mine takes bolts. I was just saying the differences in "them", the cast piece, is that some took the rod some the bolts. And before I another correction... meaning the cast piece is the same number mine took bolts some took the rod...depending on your model application. Im just hunting the pieces.

All that being said thanks for the input
